The Democratic Party of Illinois has one of the most successful records of electing Democrats in the country and is seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to serve as field organizers for the Democratic Party. Under the direction of the Regional Political Director, a Field Organizer is responsible for implementing the field plan for the election or re-election of Democratic candidates in assigned regions.
These positions will be based around the state, and we ask that candidates live in their
district (if not already residing there). Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout their
district regularly and have access to reliable transportation.

What Will You Do?
• Conducting daily direct voter outreach with candidates and volunteers.
• Recruiting and managing volunteers including training one-on-one and in groups.
• Participating in and overseeing door-to-door canvasses and phone banks at the direction of the Regional Organizing Director.
• Overseeing the inputting of data from candidate and volunteer voter contact.
• Ensuring follow up with supporters and undecided voters, including follow-up letters, delivery of yard signs and absentee ballot requests.
• Preparing for election day and GOTV activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with at least one-year work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working for or volunteering on political campaigns.
• Enthusiasm for Democratic politics.
• Demonstrated ability to train and instruct volunteers and the general public.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established timelines.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned
Additional skills desired:
• Experience with Voter Access Network (VAN) and Excel.
• Understanding of state policy issues.
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish or other second language a plus but not required.
Job Details

Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout their district regularly. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and a reliable mode of transportation.
The salary for this role is $3,500 per month. DPI also offers a generous benefits package.
