JOB DESCRIPTION

Description: Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is seeking full-time Field Organizers for his 2025 reelection campaign. Under his leadership, the District Attorney’s office has championed efforts to combat gun violence, mental health and substance abuse problems, hate crimes, and corruption in New York City.

 

Responsibilities: With the Field Director’s guidance, organizers implement all aspects of the campaign’s voter outreach priorities. Organizers are essential members of the campaign and have responsibilities including:

 

  • Recruit, train, and retain campaign volunteers, cultivating relationships to identify prospective volunteer leaders

  • Plan and execute direct voter contact activities, including phone banks, text banks, letter writing, door-to-door canvasses, and relational organizing

  • Attend events to recruit volunteers, build new community relationships, and strengthen existing ties with organizations across Manhattan

  • Assist with coordination of campaign fellows and interns

 

This role will require substantial travel within Manhattan and will last through November 15th, 2025.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work on weekends and commute to/within Manhattan upon request

  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build relationships, listen, collaborate, and lead with respect and professionalism

  • Highly organized and independent work style; a strong ability to multitask and communicate

  • Demonstrated cultural competence and an ability work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences; a commitment to fostering a positive working environment grounded in the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion

  • Preferred:

  • Previous organizing or campaign experience, including internships and fellowships (other relevant experience working for community groups, non-profits, service organizations, etc. is valued)

  • Proficiency in languages other than English (i.e., Spanish or Chinese) highly valued

  • Manhattan ties and/or experience in New York City politics a plus
