Mississippi Forward PAC is hiring field organizers to manage and execute the direct voter contact program in support of the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, Scott Colom. Field Organizers (FOs) will be responsible for the execution and management of all direct voter contact, including volunteer recruitment and training, as well as coaching and supervising volunteer leaders. Field Organizers will also plan, evaluate, and facilitate community events and coordinate with relevant partners to run an effective and efficient program.

Job Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, motivate, supervise, and retain a consistent volunteer base, exercising independent judgment in determining volunteer assignments, priorities, training needs, and engagement strategies to implement the field plan and achieve voter-contact goals. Develop, plan, and manage direct voter contact events such as canvasses, phone banks, and GOTV, and independently determine appropriate staffing, timelines, volunteer deployment, and operational priorities
Provide the ROD with daily updates, analysis, and recommendations on relevant direct voter contact and voter engagement events
Use Votebuilder to evaluate and cut direct voter contact lists, conduct volunteer recruitment, track and analyze volunteer engagement and ensure timely and accurate data entry
Maintain, evaluate, and update metrics tracker on a daily basis
Determine literature needs and distribution priorities, monitor inventory, and coordinate distribution to supporters and partner organizations Exercise independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing work, allocating resources, resolving routine operational issues, and adapting field activities to meet program objectives
Other duties as assigned by the ROD, along with other duties assigned by PAC leadership
Qualifications:
No prior campaign experience required, training will be provided
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit throughout the duration of the program
Comfortable with talking to new people and making hard asks
Demonstrate strong personal organization and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriate
Understand and present effective training and management skills with staff and volunteers
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation
Be dedicated to anti-harassment and anti-racist principles, diversity, equity and inclusion, and grassroots organizing
Helpful skills for the role:
Previous success with volunteer recruitment
Involvement, volunteer or paid, with a Democratic campaign
Strong relational organizing network in Mississippi
Understand and demonstrate voter engagement and persuasion techniques
Experience with NGP VAN, Mobilize, the dialer, and/or relational tools
Experience with Google Suite
Know best practices for social media and be comfortable using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for program outreach

Salary and Benefits:
This is a nonexempt position, which will be compensated at an hourly rate intended to generate roughly the equivalent of $6,000 monthly, less applicable deductions and withholdings, based on a 55-hour workweek. The hourly straight time pay rate shall be $22.15 and the overtime rate will be $33.23. The employee must keep track of all hours worked. We will guarantee minimum payment of no less than $6,000 per month, less applicable deductions and withholdings.
All full-time staff are provided with a full health care package, including vision and dental, subject to eligibility requirements set out in governing plan documents. This position also offers a relocation stipend of $2,500.
This is a full-time, temporary position through no later than November 10, 2026. Employment is at-will. Due to the compressed nature of the electoral calendar, applicants should expect to work long hours, including evenings and weekend work. With exceptions subject-to-approval for health, vision or dental needs and family emergencies, this position is not otherwise eligible for paid time off or vacation.
