Position Overview
Field Organizers will be the backbone of our campaign’s grassroots program. Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers; running canvassing, phone banks, and community events; and facilitating voter engagement across their region. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment and excels in time management.
Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to build a strong, sustainable organizing program.
Escalate and train volunteer leaders to build and manage their own volunteers and neighborhood teams.
Run volunteer events for your region and motivate volunteer teams to meet daily and weekly direct voter contact goals.
Voter Contact
Facilitate direct voter contact efforts through canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and other organizing tools.
Manage staging locations and volunteer leaders in assigned turf.
Track voter contact metrics and ensure all data is accurately entered into VAN.
Community Engagement & Events
Represent the campaign at community gatherings, Democratic Party events, and local meetings in your region.
Build and staff house parties, canvass launches, and volunteer recruitment events.
Manage campaign follow-up and outreach for voters and volunteers who have engaged with the campaign.
Build relationships with local leaders, organizations, and activists to strengthen the campaign’s reach.
Goals & Reporting
Manage your time strategically to meet and exceed all short and long-term recruitment and direct voter contact goals assigned by the Field Director.
Consistently report metrics and progress towards goals, and maintain the field team's data/VAN and reporting standards
Collaborate with other departments to accomplish outreach goals and amplify local organizing efforts.
Report progress, challenges, and successes by maintaining consistent communication with the Field Director and the overall organizing team.
Qualifications
0–2+ years of experience with community organizing or issue advocacy on political campaigns or with nonprofits (field experience strongly preferred, but not required. Candidates with experience working in people-facing fast-paced environments are also welcome to apply).
Must be willing to relocate or make the daily commute to the district.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships quickly.
Willingness to engage with voters directly by knocking doors, making calls, and leading by example.
Comfort with technology, including VAN/Votebuilder, Minivan, Mobilize, Google Suite, and basic data entry, preferred.
Willingness to work long, irregular hours, evenings, and weekends, with hours adjusting on a ramping scale closer to the election.
A passion for electing Democrats and defeating extremists like Lauren Boebert.
Ties to Colorado or the 4th Congressional District, or Colorado are a plus.
