About Justin J Pearson

Justin J. Pearson launched his campaign for Tennessee’s Ninth Congressional District on October 8, 2025, declaring it “a campaign for The People.” A movement leader and Tennessee lawmaker, he rose to national prominence as part of the Tennessee Three, standing up for gun reform and being overwhelmingly reelected after expulsion. A lifelong organizer, he helped lead the victorious Byhalia Pipeline fight, shut down a cancer-causing sterilization plant, and now challenges Elon Musk’s xAI data center. About the Role 

Field Organizers will be vital to the success of our campaign and be responsible for the execution of the voter outreach plan as well as day-to-day recruitment, management and coaching of volunteers and volunteer leaders. This will include recruiting, training, managing, and energizing volunteers; organizing and facilitating field and community events; and doing the work to effectively scale our program effectively and quickly.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with the team to reach ambitious voter contact goals

  • Schedule, recruit for, launch phone banks and canvasses in an effective, timely manner. 

  • Organize, lead, and attend volunteer trainings and canvasses

  • Recruit, coach, manage, and motivate volunteers and high capacity volunteer leaders

  • Meet weekly door knocking and phone call metrics and ensure that volunteers are trained to properly perform their roles.

  • Maintain accurate and reliable field data, and complete daily and weekly reports as assigned by Field Director

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-intensity, high-impact environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative, and a resourceful organizer who can build new systems and strategies from the ground up

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends.

 

 Experience & Skills

  • Two cycles of campaign field experience preferred, ideally with one cycle serving in a paid role with demonstrated leadership experience. 

  • Experience with community organizing and movement building;

  • Experienced leading big scale door-knocking and phone banking operation preferred

  • Experience using GoogleSuite and NGP VAN is highly preferred. Experience with Mobilize, Reach, Scale to Win, or similar system(s) is preferred, but not required.

  • Passionate about creating an environment where volunteers from diverse backgrounds feel safe and respected

  • Must have a driver license, access to reliable transportation, a smartphone, and a computer.

 

Salary: $4,500 per month
