JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

Marlene Galán-Woods for Congress is seeking a ** Field Organizer** to support the campaign’s field operation. This is a** full-time, fully in-person position** based in** Arizona’s 1st Congressional District**. This role will report directly to the** Campaign Manager**.

Background

Marlene Galán-Woods is a former broadcast journalist and mother of five who has lived in Arizona for the past 38 years. Her parents fled communist Cuba looking for a better life. Their risk paid off and allowed Marlene to pursue her career as a broadcast journalist, which brought her to Arizona. She is running for Congress in ** Arizona’s 1st Congressional District**, one of the most competitive battleground districts in the country.

Winning AZ-01 will require a strong, disciplined, and aggressive field operation. The Field Organizer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a successful voter contact program to support a winning campaign.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Field Plan Execution: Oversee the campaign's volunteer recruitment and retention, candidate meet and greets, and coordinated voter contact programs across canvass, phone, and text.

 

  • Team Management: Train and manage a team of volunteers, and interns.

 

  • Data & Analytics: Maintain the campaign’s Votebuilder (VAN) database. Track daily and weekly progress-to-goal metrics to ensure the campaign is meeting goals.

 

  • Coalition Building: Work closely with local activists, labor unions, and community leaders to integrate their efforts into the field program.

 

  • Training: Develop and lead training sessions for volunteers and staff on effective messaging, turf cutting, and digital organizing tools.

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Candidate Qualifications

  • Previous campaign field experience preferred

 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

 

  • Exceptional attention to detail

 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

 

  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced campaign environment

 

  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and VAN

 

  • Ability to work in-person in the district

 

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

 

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
