JOB DESCRIPTION

The Christina Bohannan for Congress campaign is seeking an organizer to join our field operation for the rest of the 2024 cycle.  IA-01 is a highly targeted race and is one of the top challenger races in the country. In 2020 the Democratic candidate lost by six votes. 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute a direct voter contact program, including phone banking, text banking, canvassing, and relational organizing 

  • Identify, recruit, train and retain a diverse group of volunteers from across the first district based on metric-driven goals to: 

  • Continue to identify volunteer prospects and strong supporters

  • Create a positive volunteer experience that engages new people in the volunteer process and keeps people engaged throughout the cycle

  • Organize a variety of events, in person and virtually  

  • Engage with key local Democratic county parties, organizations, and community leaders

  • Perform other duties as needed 

 

Job Requirements 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends  

  • Commitment to establishing a culture of respect and community within our campaign 

  • Familiarity with VAN a plus

  • Ability to work independently and as a cohesive member of a team in a fast paced, metrics-driven work environment

  • Ability to track and report data in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner

  • Great organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail 

  • Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver's license, computer, cell phone and be willing to relocate to Iowa 

 

 We are especially looking for candidates based in these locations, or prepared to commute to  them on a daily basis: 

o Scott County, IA (Cities of Davenport; Bettendorf; Eldridge, LeClaire) 

o Warren County, IA (Indianola) and Jasper County (Newton) 

 

Compensation: 

• Employment through November, 2024

• There is room for advancement/promotion within the campaign 

• Supporter housing upon request
