Compensation: $4,000/month** Employment Type:** Full-time, temporary through Election Day (November 3, 2026)** Location:** Suffolk County, Long Island. Must live on or be willing to relocate to Long Island for the duration of the campaign.** Reports to:** Field Director
This is one of New York’s most competitive state legislative races, and the outcome will help decide the majority in Albany. We are building a serious, disciplined field program from the ground up and looking for organizers who want real ownership over their turf and the chance to help decide a race that impacts New Yorkers.
Knock doors and lead voter contact canvasses across an assigned turf
Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers
Meet daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals set by the Field Director
Represent the campaign at community events, tabling opportunities, and local meetings
Build relationships with community organizations, elected officials, and local activists
Track voter contact and volunteer data using VAN/VoteBuilder
Support canvass launches, campaign events, and GOTV operations as Election Day approaches
Other duties as assigned
You care about this district and want to help elect a Democrat in a competitive race
You have prior canvassing, organizing, or campaign experience, or you are ready and eager to learn
You hold a valid driver's license and have reliable access to a car
You are comfortable knocking on strangers' doors, working outside in all weather, and handling rejection with a smile
You are a self-starter who can manage your own schedule and hit goals with minimal supervision
You can work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, with availability increasing as Election Day nears
Spanish language skills are a plus
Hands-on field organizing experience on a top-tier, competitive campaign
Direct mentorship and professional development from senior staff
In-depth field experience that will help you build a career as a campaign professional
A professional network and references for future work in politics, government, or advocacy
