Field Representatives are responsible for carrying out our largest form of voter contact: talking to residents at their doors. Field Representatives bring crucial insights to the team and help inform strategy as we hear from residents in the 26th Senate District about what issues affect them. This is one of the most competitive State Senate races in this cycle, so you will be working in a high paced, collaborative, and supportive work environment that puts people first and aims to achieve a historical first - flipping Illinois’s 26th State Senate District 26 blue.
This position is perfect for someone who has experience canvassing or is brand new to politics and looking to take a first step. People who enjoy speaking to their neighbors, have good oral communication skills, like a challenge, and are committed to the values, vision, and goals of this campaign will thrive in this role. Field Reps are the heart of the campaign, and we hope you’ll consider joining us!
Job Details & Expectations:
Achieve a minimum of 10 hours/week of canvassing
Attend kick-off training and continuing training throughout the campaign
Attend weekly debriefs
Available to answer questions about turf via text and call
Have access to smart phone
Have access to reliable transportation (people who may need assistance with transportation are still welcome to apply, we can work with you to fill occasional gaps)
Collect data and follow shift guidelines including checking in and out
