About Role

Field Team Lead will work with a team of up to 10 canvassers in the field each day. Field Team Lead develops and nurtures a strong and committed crew by consistent training, close supervision, maintaining appropriate relationships that foster trust and respect, holding individual team members accountable to standards and taking appropriate action promptly when necessary. Field Team Lead has the responsibility to ensure all canvassers are hitting their daily goal, trained, and supported on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have significant canvass experience and previous experience working with staff for or on behalf of candidates or issue campaigns. Superior project management skills are a must to ensure that campaign strategies and tactics adapt and change with the dynamics of the 2024 election cycle. This position reports directly to the Regional Field Lead.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

● Field Team Lead facilitates daily/weekly/monthly check-ins with canvassers and regional leads to meet canvassing goals and ensure campaign progress.

● Ensures accurate voter commitment card tracking and promptly addresses data or staffing issues.

● Responsible for collecting and relaying potential volunteers and canvassers information to the talent recruiter and/or to regional lead.

● Provides in-office and in-field coaching and support to meet canvassing metrics.

● Drafts and executes comprehensive plans to achieve canvassing goals.

● Creates and maintains a team tracker, updating it daily.

● Works with Regional and the VR Deputy director to help in developing strategic plans to keep teams on target and adjusts as needed to ensure implementation of core campaign strategies.

Qualifications Required

● Minimum 1-2 campaign/community organizing cycles (or 1-2 years) with staff

management experience.

● Proven ability in recruiting, training, and managing staff, including overseeing

VR operations.

● Collaborative team player with independent work capability.

● Develop and execute work plans and conduct regular check-ins and planning

meetings.

● Mentor and coach assigned team staff, ensuring alignment with

organizational values and meeting performance goals.

● Experience with VAN databases and Google/Excel Sheets.

● Strong emphasis on daily data entry and metrics-driven planning and

reporting.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

● Lead with cultural competency, fostering collaboration across diverse groups.

● Access to reliable transportation, laptop, internet, and mobile phone.

● This role requires you to stand and walk for long periods of time in both indoor and outdoor settings including a variety of weather conditions (rainy, snow, hot and/or cold).

● Must be able to travel at least 20% of the time for work (reliable transportation required).
