Curtis Hertel’s Campaign for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District is seeking a full-time Field/Organizing Director to begin ASAP. We are looking for someone with previous organizing/field experience who is hard-working and passionate about electing. This role will report to the Campaign Manager.
Develop and execute a robust, data-driven field plan specific to MI-07, including strategies for Dem base turnout and independent/undecided voter persuasion, as well as student voter outreach and constituency-based organizing programs.
Train and manage a team of Field Organizers to execute on volunteer recruitment and direct voter contact programs.
Build relationships and work with local community groups and leaders, unions and other campaign partners.
Collaborate closely with counterparts in Michigan’s coordinated campaign.
Assist in planning and facilitating campaign events for the candidate.
Manage campaign VAN account and maintain data integrity. Report and track key metrics for the field program.
Strong organizational, communication and writing skills
2-3 cycles of campaign organizing/field experience preferred but not required
Proficiency in VAN, including training and data management.
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and work with various digital organizing tools.
Located in/near Lansing or willing to relocate to the district for in-person work.
A strong passion to elect Democrats, keep the MI-07th blue, and flip the House!
