Finance and Events Associate
Stop the Ban (STB) is a campaign - made up of a statewide coalition of organizations and concerned citizens - working to defeat a Missouri Constitutional Amendment that would overturn the Missouri reproductive freedom ballot measure passed in 2024. The proposed ban addresses multiple unrelated subjects, banning abortion and health care for transgender youth as well as changing court processes designed to make it harder to protect reproductive freedom.
The Finance and Events Associate will report to the Finance Director. STB seeks to run this campaign in a way that not only leads us to victory but also builds long-term grassroots power and infrastructure in Missouri.
This position is full time and based in Missouri. We will consider applications on a rolling basis until the role is filled, so interested candidates should submit their applications as soon as possible.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with the Finance Director to support STB’s fundraising and maintain relationships with donors and supporting organizations.
With the Finance Director, draft and update fundraising documents as needed, such as agendas and donor briefing memos
Keep the campaign’s finance and donor trackers up to date with the Finance Director.
Researching potential local, statewide, and national donors
Work directly with the Finance Director to plan and execute fundraising events from start to finish, including monitoring event progress and RSVPs
Coordinate logistics for events with the Finance Director: prospect and recruit event hosts, guide event hosts, and ensure strong communication between guests, raisers, and hosts
Assist with the donor acknowledgment process, including thank you notes and timely follow-up with hosts
Assist with campaign finance compliance processes: in-kind contribution forms, campaign receipts, and general record keeping in accordance with campaign finance laws
Support and assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum one cycle (2 years) of experience in political fundraising and campaigns or events management, with a strong track record of success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
Knowledge of Google Suite, ActBlue, and NGP, and other donor tools is preferable.
Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organization skills.
Team player with a positive attitude who motivates others.
Missouri ties, understanding of Missouri politics, and experience working with Missouri based organizations preferred.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and learn quickly.
Experience planning, executing, and staffing virtual and in-person events is preferred
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide.
