JOB DESCRIPTION

Former Congressman Tom Perriello seeks Finance Assistants in his race to bring principled leadership back to VA-05 and secure a Democratic majority in the US House. This role is a part-time, hybrid-friendly opportunity to gain fundraising experience, a core skill for both political campaigns and non-profit management.

 

Core Duties

 

Finance Assistants work closely with the Finance Director to:

 

  • maintain financial records

  • produce fundraising reports

  • assist with donor research and correspondence

  • build fundraising events through phone and email outreach

  • staff fundraising events and meetings

  • create digital fundraising content

  • prepare thank you notes

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • strong proofreading and professional correspondence skills

  • sound data management skills

  • comfort with timely remote collaboration via email and Slack

  • ability to learn new software tools quickly 

  • professional integrity and discretion

  • warmth and kindness in connecting with a wide range of campaign supporters

  • ability to work non-traditional hours to staff events

 

Bonus Qualifications

 

  • prior experience working on political campaigns

  • prior experience with NGP or another customer relationship management (CRM) database

  • some lightweight graphic design skills for making invitations and promotional materials

 

Location and Schedule

 

  • Most work can be done remotely. Preference will be given to applicants who can join our Charlottesville-based team for occasional in-person meetings and fundraising events.

  • Finance Assistants should commit to working at least 10-20 hours per week.

  • Start and end dates are flexible. Preference will be given to applicants who can start in January 2026.

 

Compensation

 

  • Pay starts at $25/hour. Additional compensation commensurate with experience.
