The Finance Assistant will support the campaign’s fundraising operation through donor research, donor management, and call time preparation. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, technically capable, and eager to learn the basics and mechanics of political fundraising. The position is based in Madison, Wisconsin and will begin at approximately 20 hours per week, with the capacity to expand to full-time as the campaign grows. Compensation is $15/hour.
Prepare, build, and manage call time lists
Jump in to assist with call time as needed
Conduct donor research and assist with prospecting for high-dollar call time
Help manage relationships with major donors and Finance Committee members
Handle event follow-up, including donor thank-yous, pledge tracking
Maintain and update donor records, spreadsheets, and databases
Support weekly finance tasks, including reporting, data cleanup, and list pulls
Strong technological skills and comfort working with Google Sheets
High attention to detail and ability to manage large lists
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and take direction in a fast-paced campaign environment
Interest in Democratic politics and fundraising
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable interacting with donors and stakeholders
Open to feedback and eager to develop new skills
Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
