Compensation: $4,000 - $4,500 per month

Brian Varela is a first-generation American, entrepreneur, father, and community leader fighting
to ensure that every family has a fair shot at the American Dream. Brian is fighting for a future
where families can thrive, where working people are prioritized, and where democracy works for
all of us.
Brian’s campaign is building a strong, grassroots movement to win in the primary and general
election in NJ-7, one of the most competitive Republican-held House seats in the country, and
we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Finance Assistant to help power our fundraising
operation.
Position Overview
The Finance Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the campaign’s
fundraising program. This position supports the campaign manager, candidate and fundraising
consultants with donor outreach, call time, event coordination, contribution tracking, and
compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet with sensitive information, willing
to be creative and innovative in a packed primary, and thrives in a fast-paced political
environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct donor research and compile prospect lists for call time and outreach
Handle follow-up emails, texts and pledge tracking from call time.
Staff candidate call time, answering questions, managing lists and taking notes.
Assist in managing the campaign’s donor database and contribution tracking systems.
Process incoming contributions and prepare deposits in compliance with FEC
regulations.

Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with NGP VAN, ActBlue,
or similar tools preferred.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Political campaign, fundraising, sales or nonprofit development experience a plus, but
not required.
