The Georgia House Democrats are seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Finance Assistant for Georgia Blue PAC for the 2024 Election Cycle. This is an entry-level position, which reports to the Call Time Manager / Deputy Finance Director and works in conjunction with the House Democratic Leader and the leadership team.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in or understanding of fundraising on legislative, statewide, or national campaigns, political groups, or non-profits and an eagerness to learn creative and effective fundraising strategies in support of Democrats in every level of government.
About the Finance Assistant role:
The Finance Assistant will play a critical role in supporting a sustainable fundraising operation that will position Georgia House Democrats to compete in 2024 and beyond. They will be charged with preparing incumbent call time, tracking contributions both online and via check, maintaining and updating the fundraising database, and generally assisting the execution of the 2024 finance plan. They should be skilled in managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining keen attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead the day-to-day execution of the call time preparation in the Georgia Blue PAC fundraising plan;
Support expansion of the donor universe; including identifying and prospecting donors, collecting contact information, researching biographies and relevant interests, and creating call sheets for Members;
Overseeing data systems, including maintaining the NGP database, tracking call results, drafting donor follow-up via email and phone, and ensuring that all aspects of call time are recorded in NGP;
Assist in identifying and scheduling meetings between current and prospective donors with House Democratic Leadership and other Members, preparing memos and other critical materials in advance of meetings;
Help organize logistics for fundraising events, including researching venues, set-up and take-down, check-in preparation, and staffing;
Maintain systems for call time, donor follow-up, and re-solicitation by the House Democratic Leader and the broader leadership team;
Update the Call Time Manager / Deputy Finance Director on call time schedules, metrics, performances;
Minimum Qualifications:
0-1 cycles of campaign fundraising experience, including internships or fellowships;
Effective people manager who is able to engage and motivate Members and candidates;
Strategic thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving;
Organized and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail;
Able to perform in a deadline-driven environment;
Ability to be flexible in dynamic situations and help build a lasting campaign committee infrastructure; and,
Desire to execute campaign fundraising efforts.

Working from a computer for long periods of time

State-wide travel is expected. Reimbursement of mileage will be at the rate of $0.56 per mile, monthly.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for the Finance Assistant position is $40,000-$45,000 on an annualized basis and is negotiable, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
