Competitive Democratic California Congressional Campaign Seeks a Finance Director

Reports to: Campaign Manager and Candidate
A competitive House race in California among the top targets for Democrats to flip in 2026 is seeking a Finance Director. The race has been named one of the top House races that will determine the Democrats taking back the House, making it one of the very few pick-up opportunities for Democrats in the country, across both the Senate and House.
The Finance Director for our race will be a key part of the campaign leadership, and will work closely with the Campaign Manager to develop and implement a strong fundraising strategy and finance plan that includes a high-yielding candidate call-time program and local and national fundraiser events. The Finance Director will be the lead on recruiting and planning fundraising events as well as developing productive donor research and maintaining donor relationships.
The Finance Director will be responsible for ensuring the campaign meets its quarterly goals, and will work with the Campaign Manager to monitor and reconcile fundraising plan and campaign budget on an on-going basis. The Finance Director will also work with consultant and compliance staff to ensure accurate reporting and record maintenance.
Specific responsibilities include:
Developing and updating a Finance Plan and cashflow
Accurately projecting revenue numbers so that strategic spending decisions can be made and updating Campaign Manager on Fundraising Program and revenue numbers
Planning and staffing fundraising events
Developing and maintaining relationships with key raisers, hosts, fundraising networks and PACs
Building a productive call time program guided by strong donor research
Staffing candidate at fundraising related events
Qualifications:
One to two cycles of campaign fundraising experience, with two cycles preferred; federal experience also preferred
Strong record-keeping, analytical, organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
Willingness to work and be reachable outside normal business hours
A valid US driver's license, and access to reliable, insured transportation
