We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead our fundraising efforts in a highly competitive U.S. Senate campaign in Michigan.
As Finance Director, you will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure our campaign has the resources to take on billionaire-backed politicians. The ideal candidate will have experience raising money for a federal campaign, be highly organized, a strong leader and communicator, and bring a creative, strategic approach to grassroots and major donor fundraising.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning & Strategy
Develop a detailed fundraising plan to project and track call time, fundraisers, travel, digital, and other fundraising buckets
Set and track weekly, monthly, and quarterly fundraising goals
Coordinate with campaign leadership and other campaign finance team members to align finance strategy with budget needs
Fundraising Execution
Oversee the execution of candidate call time, ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness
Draft fundraising materials including materials for fundraisers, direct mail, and other appeals for raising
Plan and execute national fundraising events and staff out of state travel once a month
Mange finance committees
Expand the donor base through strategic research and outreach
Management & Operations
Manage the in-state finance team, including our current and future in-state events director, call time manager, deputy finance director, and other finance assistant roles
Coordinate candidate’s finance schedule with fundraising consultants and the operations team
Track, analyze, and report fundraising performance metrics
Foster a high-energy, innovative fundraising culture
Compliance & Reporting
Oversee daily donation processing, deposits, and data entry.
Ensure all campaign fundraising activities comply with FEC regulations.
Review and approve FEC reports prior to submission.
Qualifications:
Proven experience raising money for a federal campaign.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Strong communication skills, both internal and external.
Proficiency in campaign finance software.
Willingness to work a campaign schedule, including some travel (estimated 30%) and irregular hours.
In office work: 3 days/week at office located in Ann Arbor, starting some time in Q3 2025
