Friends of LD38 is hiring a full-time Finance Director to join our team in support of Lisa Swain and Chris Tully for New Jersey Assembly in the 38th District. The 38th district is among the most competitive in the state and is one of three districts that voted for Trump while being represented by Democratic Assemblymembers.
Assemblymember Lisa Swain is proud of her ability to get things done for New Jersey women. She is the legislature’s leading voice on protecting abortion access in New Jersey and is the Chair of the Appropriations Committee. Assemblymember Chris Tully is a proud first-generation Irish American whose immigrant parents demonstrated to him the power of hard work and giving back. He has dedicated his career to public service, working to reign in debt and spending on Borough Council, putting his town on stable and responsible financial ground.
The ideal candidate should be excited about the prospect of growing and implementing an ambitious fundraising program. The Finance Director is expected to relocate to North New Jersey as work will be conducted in person in Bergen County. This senior staff role reports to the Campaign Manager and has a direct working relationship with the Assemblymembers.
Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and execute a robust finance plan to include events, meetings, call time, and raising from allies.
Monitor progress to goal and push the team to reach aggressive quarterly goals.
Manage the relationship with external finance consultants, executing events from start to finish, staffing fundraising trips, and maintaining ongoing communication with hosts, bundlers, and partners.
Conduct donor research and run a call time program.
Oversee and manage all finance data and technology.
Interface with all partner organizations and vendors and support the compliance consultant
Assist the Campaign Manager with cash flow and budget projections
Qualifications:
1+ cycle of campaign finance experience required, including call time experience.
Proficiency in NGP, ActBlue, and Google Drive is required.
Self-starter with a robust work ethic who is willing to work weekends and evenings if needed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong writer who can clearly communicate complex ideas in written form.
Confident verbal communicator who can clearly communicate up and down the organizational hierarchy.
