Friends of May Nivar (House District 57, Virginia) is hiring a Finance Director who will be tasked with developing and executing our finance strategy in close collaboration with the Campaign Manager, senior leadership, and the House Democratic Caucus.
This role is based in Richmond, Virginia. The Finance Director will report to the Campaign Manager and staff and interact with the candidate frequently.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an aggressive and comprehensive finance plan that includes call time, events, partner investments, etc.
Manage databases, conduct research on current and potential contributors, and prospect for new donors.
Staff and manage candidate call time, including overseeing documentation and pledge chasing.
Provide direct support and coaching to candidate during daily call time.
Hire, train, and manage finance staff and interns.
Conduct accurate and timely donor follow up and acknowledgement.
Plan fundraising events, including identifying potential hosts, providing host support, and follow up.
Prepare briefing documents.
Staff candidate in-person during events and meetings.
Work with compliance consultants to ensure compliance with campaign finance law in all fundraising practices.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous finance experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in NGP and ActBlue is strongly preferred.
Ability to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends (as needed)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals.
Ties to Virginia and/or the district are welcomed, but not required.
