Sean McCann’s campaign for Congress in MI-04 is hiring a Finance Director to lead the fundraising program on one of the most high-profile toss-up races of the cycle.
The Finance Director is a senior staff level position that will report to and work with the Campaign Manager to build and execute a multi-million dollar finance plan that engages stakeholders at the local, state, and national level. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Primary Responsibilities
Manage the campaign’s fundraising operation by writing, reconciling, and tracking the full cycle, annual, quarterly, and monthly finance plan
Lead the campaign’s fundraising events program - plan, execute, and staff events
Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance team and program
Regularly staff the candidate at fundraisers and other political events in the district
Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with donors, partners, and committees
Ensure the finance department is regularly and accurately maintaining databases
Conduct research on prospective and existing donors
Hire and supervise finance staff
Other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the campaign
Required Qualifications
At least 2 cycles of campaign experience, in a finance role for at least 1 of those cycles
Experience managing candidate call time and planning high-dollar fundraising events
Proficient with NGP VAN and ActBlue as well as federal campaign finance law
Strong interpersonal skills, very well organized, and extremely detail oriented
Professional demeanor and willingness to adapt to a changing environment
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work a campaign’s irregular hours, including some nights and weekends
A valid driver’s license and vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in senior positions and staffing a principal at events
Experience & comfort supervising staff, interns, and volunteers
Willingness to support and staff call time, prep, follow up, and scheduling
