The Finance Director will oversee fundraising strategy, donor prospecting, donor management, event fundraising, and finance database operations.

This position requires a self-starter capable of working independently in a fast-paced, all-hands-on-deck political environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Campaign Manager and candidate, bringing experience in all facets of campaign finance from call time management to innovative digital fundraising strategies.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in the district. The Finance Director will be expected to work closely with the candidate, attend events throughout the district and region, and maintain a regular presence at campaign headquarters. Remote work is not available for this role.

Donor Preparation: Prepare the candidate for donor conversations by providing detailed research, giving history, and strategic talking points to convert prospective supporters into committed donors.

Portfolio Growth: Identify and track donor prospects, develop creative donor outreach strategies, and continually expand the campaign's fundraising network.

Follow-Up: Ensure timely and thorough follow-up on all donor commitments, pledges, and contribution acknowledgments.

Fundraising & Event Leadership

Fundraising Strategy: Create, implement, and monitor a comprehensive finance plan to meet monthly and quarterly fundraising goals.

Event Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events ranging from major donor receptions to grassroots gatherings.

Candidate Representation: Attend events with the candidate to manage donor engagement and logistics, or represent the campaign when appropriate to cultivate relationships with supporters and community stakeholders.

Digital Fundraising: Coordinate with digital consultants and campaign staff to maximize online fundraising through email programs, social media, text messaging, and ActBlue optimization.

People Management & Compliance

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, interns, and contractors supporting fundraising and finance operations.

Finance Committee: Help establish and manage a finance committee, recruit members alongside the candidate, and facilitate ongoing engagement and fundraising activity.

Compliance: Coordinate with the campaign Treasurer to ensure all contributions and expenditures are properly tracked, reported, and compliant with Pennsylvania campaign finance laws.

Data Management: Maintain donor records and ensure database integrity within NGP VAN and other campaign systems.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience Needed: At least one campaign cycle of political, advocacy, or nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.

Communication: Strong interpersonal, persuasive, and relationship-building skills. Ability to coach and support the candidate through donor cultivation and fundraising asks.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with NGP VAN, ActBlue, Microsoft Excel, and donor management systems preferred.

Transportation: Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required. Ability to travel throughout the district and region as needed.

Work Ethic: Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, in a campaign environment.
