Background:
Don Coover is a West Point grad, Army veteran, rancher, veterinarian, and small business owner. This is our best chance to flip a congressional seat in Kansas blue since 2018. You will have an opportunity to make a major impact and help elect a candidate who will make a positive difference. In the last quarter, this campaign was one of only 20 Democratic challengers to outraise their House Republican incumbent opponent.
About the Role:
We are looking to hire a Finance Director to elevate the campaign’s fundraising capacity. You will have an opportunity for career and leadership growth. The Finance Director will manage the fundraising program, including day to day as well as big picture projects.
This is a campaign position for the 2026 election.
Responsibilities:
Work with Campaign Manager to develop and execute fundraising plan
Work with Finance Assistant to manage all aspects of call time program
Oversee the execution of events from start to finish
Develop an already existing finance committee
Manage Finance Assistant
Staff meetings and events
Track metrics of fundraising program
Identify new fundraising opportunities
Coordinate PAC and partner outreach
Assist with other campaign-related activities as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-3 years prior fundraising experience (could be campaign or political-adjacent)
Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and able to multi-task
Experience managing up and managing down
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to take and implement feedback
Proactive mindset
Proficiency with NGP, Votebuilder, ActBlue, Google Drive, and other related tools
Experience with different fundraising tactics
Must be willing to relocate to Southeast Kansas
