JOB DESCRIPTION

Congressional Campaign located in Charlotte, North Carolina, seeks an experienced finance director.  Ideally, the position will be based in the eighth Congressional District.

 

PLANNING AND CASH FLOW:

  1. Write and implement a fundraising plan with monthly, quarterly, and campaign goals.

  2. Monitor the fundraising plan on a daily basis and report to appropriate staff when needed.

  3. Adjust fundraising plan based on outside political forces and other situations as they arise.

  4. Work with specific campaign agents (candidate, consultants, etc.) to coordinate the fundraising plan as it applies to the campaign spending budget and modifying the cash flow on an on-going basis.

  5. Set the overall fundraising goals for each fundraising method (ie, call time, events, meetings, etc.) on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

  6. Identify the resources, tools and equipment necessary to meet all established fundraising goals.

 

APPEALING TO DONORS:

  1. Identify potential contributors in Congressional District 8 and beyond who have an interest in supporting your campaign, either because of prior engagement or because of existing personal relationships.

  2. Organize call time which will include working with candidate to ensure appropriate call time hours are being met and call time is being utilized successfully.

  3. Write and prepare fundraising appeals and resolicitation mailings to potential donors.

  4. Organize and attend fundraising events, which includes recruiting hosts, organizing finance committees, following up on leads, etc.

  5. Oversee the printing and mailing of any invitations, personal appeals to donors and thanking of donors.

  6. Writing and launching regular internet appeals (if deemed necessary and appropriate).

  7. Personally solicit campaign contributions via phone and donor meetings.

 

COMPLIANCE:

  1. Supervise daily check collection, deposits and financial reporting.

  2. Assure that compliance deadlines are met and work with appropriate staff to ensure compliance specifications are followed.

 

OTHER DUTIES:

  1. Serve as staff on fundraising related trips.

  2. Maintain and organize database and donor information on a regular basis.

  3. Assist with the development of online tools as needed by campaign.

  4. Maintain relationships with significant opinion makers in the community as it pertains to the campaign.

  5. Manage call time manager, finance assistant and other staff assigned to the finance director.  

 

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS:

Need to be familiar with the Google drive, Microsoft Office suite, ActBlue, NGP, Numero, and Slack.

 

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. 

 

This is a full-time position.
