The Finance Director is a senior member of the campaign team who will be responsible for growing an ambitious fundraising program, while working towards the long-term success of the campaign in future cycles. This position will start in Q3 of 2025 and will continue indefinitely. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who prioritizes responsiveness and creativity while being an excellent relationship builder.
This position can be located in West Michigan or Washington, DC in the off-year with relocation to Michigan in 2026. This is a senior staff role that reports to the Chief of Staff and Political Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and execute a robust finance plan including local and national events, meetings, direct mail, digital fundraising, call time, raising from allies, and more.
Monitor progress to goal and push the team to reach aggressive quarterly goals.
Provide day-to-day management of the finance team, which may include remote management during the off-year.
Coordinating national fundraising travel.
Review and approve all fundraising email and mail copy.
Staff the Congresswoman’s call time.
Oversee and manage all finance data and technology including NGP, ActBlue, Google Drive, and Call Time AI.
Interface with all partner organizations and vendors essential to financial success – including but not limited to a compliance firm and consultant team.
Build a long-term finance and fundraising program for the campaign.
Hours and Compensation:
This is a full-time position and will at times require weekend and evening work, both remote and in-person work, and travel to support the Congresswoman’s fundraising activities in Michigan and nationwide. The starting salary for this position ranges from $6,000-8,000 a month, commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
At least 1 cycle of campaign finance experience, 2+ cycles of experience strongly preferred. Federal campaign finance experience preferred.
Proficiency in NGP, ActBlue, and Google Drive preferred.
Self-starter with a robust work ethic who is willing to work weekends and evenings in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong writer who can clearly communicate complex ideas in written form.
Confident verbal communicator who can clearly communicate up and down the organizational hierarchy.
Ties to the Midwest, particularly West Michigan, are a strong plus.
