JOB DESCRIPTION

Rep. Matt Cartwright represents Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional district and is one of just five Democratic Representatives in a seat that Donald Trump won in 2020. Matt Cartwright won in 2022 by 2.4%, and this cycle a self-funder is running against him, making the race substantially more expensive to compete in. The path to the House majority depends critically on re-electing Rep. Cartwright, and that starts with a strong Finance Director. The Cartwright for Congress campaign is seeking a full time Finance Director to run one of the largest Frontline fundraising programs in the country and join the leadership team of one of the most competitive Congressional races in the country. Prior experience as a Finance Director is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience as a Deputy Finance Director (or similar roles) will also be considered. In the second half of 2023, Rep. Cartwright was the second-highest raising Democratic Frontliner. Interested candidates should be excited about the challenge of continuing this breakneck pace and be eager to find new avenues to grow the Congressman’s Finance program to be the top-performing Frontline fundraiser of 2024. This role can largely be filled remotely, though an on-the-ground presence may be preferred closer to Election Day. Limited travel may also be required to staff fundraising swings. The Finance team currently works remotely, whereas the field and communications teams work in-district. Candidates who are interested in completely remote jobs and completely in-person jobs should apply and discuss their preferences with the hiring team. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled. We will aim to be flexible about the start date to make this work for the right candidate. This job will require evening and weekend hours, particularly in the summer and fall. This job is through Nov. 15, 2024. Compensation will be competitive for a top-tier House race.

● Managing a team, including full-time direct reports, fundraising consultants, and interns

Desired qualities and skills:
