JOB DESCRIPTION: FINANCE DIRECTOR
A Chicago Mayoral campaign is searching for a** Finance Director** to lead the campaign’s fundraising program for the February 2027 election. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills. This position is based in Chicago, and the Finance Director will be expected to regularly staff the candidate in person and virtually.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee a campaign finance plan, tracking weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals.
Manage and train finance staff, interns, consultants, and kitchen cabinet members.
Manage the fundraising events calendar and coordinate the candidate’s finance schedule.
Plan and execute fundraising events and meetings.
Oversee the campaign’s digital fundraising program alongside a digital firm.
Grow the campaign’s fundraising network through a variety of fundraising tools and leveraging the candidate’s relationships.
Other duties as assigned, such as rolodexing the candidate and staffing call time.
Qualifications
At least one cycle of experience in political campaign fundraising, ideally on a $1m+ race.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Willingness to work weekends and evenings in a fast-paced campaign environment.
Demonstrated experience managing staff and candidates.
Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel, Google Spreadsheets, NGP, ActBlue, and Pingdex.
Compensation
Salary starts at $7,000 per month and is commensurate with experience.
Health insurance reimbursement or stipend may be available upon request.
Mileage reimbursement or transportation stipend may be available upon request.
