JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team at Mitchell Berman for Congress as we work to flip a swing district in WI-01 and send an ER nurse to Washington to fix a broken system.

 

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing team and make a real impact on one of the most high-profile congressional races in the country. The Finance Manager will be a core part of the campaign's fundraising operation, with significant responsibility from day one and room to grow as the campaign scales.

Responsibilities

 

Call Time

  • Staff candidate call time; take notes, track follow-ups, and ensure donor information is accurately recorded after each session

  • Prepare call lists in coordination with Finance department leadership, conducting donor research and keeping contact information current in the database

  • Manage and train call time assistants and volunteers as the finance department grows

  • Help maintain and improve systems for call time, donor research, and data management

  • Assist in planning the call time schedule and flagging priority follow-ups for Finance department leadership

 

Events

  • Help with event logistics coordination, including RSVPs, host communication, and day-of execution

  • Assist with staffing the candidate at fundraising events

  • Help build out small dollar events program

 

Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the campaign's fundraising database

  • Track call time activity, pledges, and follow-ups, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Pull and format call lists, donor research, and reports as directed by the Deputy Finance Director

  • Help establish and enforce data entry standards across the finance team

 

Growth

  • As the campaign scales, the Finance Manager will have opportunities to take on broader responsibilities across the finance operation in line with the campaign's evolving needs

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrated experience in a structured, process-driven environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and communicate effectively with a wide range of people (donors, event hosts, volunteers, etc)

  • Comfortable working with data and tracking systems; some prior experience with a CRM, data management, or other analytics is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of strong follow-through

  • Able to manage competing priorities and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Prior campaign finance experience not required; a strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly, and motivation to deliver for the campaign are most important

 

Compensation & Logistics

  • $3,500–$4,000/month, based on experience and qualifications

  • $500/month healthcare reimbursement stipend

  • This is an in-person position
