Don Coover is a West Point grad, Army veteran, rancher, veterinarian, and small business owner. He is a first-time Democratic candidate running to flip a Congressional seat blue in the eastern part of Kansas. About the Role:
We are looking to hire either a senior level finance staffer to elevate the candidate and campaign’s fundraising capacity. You will have an opportunity for career and leadership growth. The finance staffer will manage day to day aspects of the fundraising operation, as well as work with the campaign manager on big picture projects.
Responsibilities:
Work with Campaign Manager to develop and execute fundraising plan
Manage all aspects of call time program, including research, call sheet preparation, follow up, pledge chase etc., while managing finance assistant
The person in this role will sometimes need to staff call time themselves
Oversee the execution of events from start to finish
Develop an already existing finance committee
Manage other finance staff
Staff meetings and events
Track metrics of fundraising program
Work with compliance team on check processing and NGP maintenance
Identify new fundraising opportunities
Coordinate PAC and partner outreach
Assist with other campaign-related activities as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 1-2 years prior fundraising experience (could be campaign or political-adjacent)
Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and able to multi-task
Experience managing up and managing down
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to take and implement feedback
Proactive mindset
Proficiency with NGP, Votebuilder, ActBlue, Google Drive, and other related tools
Experience with different fundraising tactics
