About Youth Future LA
Youth Future LA is a grassroots organizing and fundraising hub supporting Arthur Dixon for Congress (CA-34). We train volunteers, build digital and field infrastructure, and power a people-funded campaign for housing justice, climate action, and economic dignity.
Position Summary
We’re seeking a Finance / Fundraising Director to build and lead our small-donor operation from the ground up. You’ll manage a 30,000-person donor database, recruit and train commission-based fundraisers, coordinate daily call time, and craft fundraising emails that drive recurring contributions. The role begins volunteer or commission-only and converts to a paid retainer once initial fundraising goals are reached.
Responsibilities
• Segment and manage donor lists (Grassroots Analytics data)
• Recruit, train & supervise 3-6 commission fundraisers
• Coordinate daily call time & track performance metrics
• Draft fundraising emails, texts, and press appeals
• Work directly with the candidate on donor strategy & compliance
Qualifications
• 1-3 years political or nonprofit fundraising experience preferred
• Familiarity with ActBlue, NGP VAN, NationBuilder, or similar CRMs
• Strong writing and phone communication skills
• Highly organized self-starter comfortable managing remote volunteers
Compensation & Structure
• Volunteer or commission to start (5-10 % of funds personally raised)
• Transitions to paid retainer once funding threshold met
• Flexible remote schedule (10-30 hours per week)
