Florida Social Justice Organizer
The Florida Social Justice Organizer will coordinate all Workers Circle social justice efforts in Florida and report to the Director of Social Justice. This exempt position has principal responsibility for outreach to Jewish organizations (senior centers, congregations) and individuals to build the base of Workers Circle-affiliated progressive Jewish voters who believe in advancing a multiracial, multicultural democracy and advocate for legislation, engage in education, and mobilize voters. While the Workers Circle welcomes all who share our values to our activist work, we have a particular focus on developing new Jewish participation.
The Florida Social Justice Organizer will be the lead representative of the Workers Circle in Florida-based work that is grounded in Central Florida (Orange-, Volusia-, Palm Beach-area Counties) with Black Voters Matter through the Black and Jewish Partnership for Democracy. They will be the Florida-wide point-person for cooperative efforts among BVM-related community organizations and the primary Workers Circle staff to collaboratively organize key efforts including a legislative advocacy day in Tallahassee and BJPD joint efforts to reach voters of color including phonebanking, textbanking, and doorknocking.
The Florida Social Justice Organizer will be the primary staff representing Workers Circle at the State Voices Florida 501c3 roundtable and coordinate Workers Circle calls to Florida voters who are likely Jewish and work with other members of the social justice team to establish the VAN list of voters and train a volunteer base within and beyond Florida to be callers.
The Florida Social Justice Organizer will have primary responsibility for involving adults across the nation who are 60 and over in the Workers Circle’s social justice programs and actions. The organizer will prioritize outreach in Florida to older adults and organizations that work with older adults, while cultivating involvement in the Workers Circle’s multi-generational activist community.
The Social Justice Organizer will advance the progressive values and vision of the Workers Circle. They must be able to assist in translating our approach to Jewish social justice using excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as tailored, outreach approaches to build communities of activists.
Additional duties may be required at the employer’s discretion. The position requires attendance at all Workers Circle events and actions which may take place at any time of the day.
This is an exempt, union position and is based in Central-Eastern Florida. Compensation $60,000-70,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package. A willingness to travel within Florida and to occasional events outside of Florida is required.

· Vacation: Each employee who shall have been employed for six (6) months but less than one (1) year by July 1st shall receive one (1) weeks’ vacation with pay. Each employee who has been employed between one year and two years shall receive two (2) weeks' vacation with pay. Each employee who shall have been employed for three (3) years but less than 10 years, shall receive three (3) weeks’ vacation with pay per year. Each employee who shall have been employed for ten (10) years or more shall receive four (4) weeks' vacation with pay per year. Employees may carry over unused vacation days to the following year to be used by no later than August 30
· Union employees receive 5 personal days per year
· Sick Days: 12 sick days per year. Employees may carry over 5 unused sick days and bank up to no more than 20 unused sick days in any given year
· An annual 4% increase through September 1, 2025, pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Union employees

The ideal candidate will possess:
5-10 years of experience in start-up or grassroots, base-building organizing
Fluent navigator of Jewish cultures and identities
Proven track-record of multi-cultural work
Self-starter and accomplished project manager
Excellent public speaking and writing skills
Comfort working in a deployed setting and relating to remote colleagues
Must have a valid driver’s license and car
Experience working with older adults a plus
Experience with VAN and Minivan programs a plus
