Close the Gap is launching a Florida program grounded in years of experience recruiting and supporting diverse, progressive women candidates. We are actively partnering with Florida-based organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to adapt our proven model to the political, cultural, and geographic realities of the state and impact the 2028 and 2030 election cycles. The Florida State Director will play a central role in shaping how Close the Gap takes root in Florida—translating a tested model into a Florida-specific program that can grow, scale, and endure across election cycles.
The Florida State Director is an ambitious, external facing leadership role with significant ownership over day-to-day execution in Florida. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in building something new, takes initiative, and is comfortable piloting and refining strategies in real time. The State Director will lead candidate recruitment, cultivate partnerships, support early fundraising and donor engagement efforts in coordination with national leadership, and ensure strong alignment between Close the Gap’s organizational priorities and on-the-ground work in Florida.
