The Lake County Democrats, in partnership with the Montana Democratic Party, are seeking a ** Year-Round Organizer** to help build and sustain a long-term organizing program to strengthen local leadership, increase voter engagement, and ensure our communities are represented. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to lead organizing efforts in a rural, tribal, and small-town landscape while developing core skills in political strategy, outreach, and leadership.
Lake County includes a significant portion of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and a diverse mix of rural and small-town communities. This role focuses on strengthening local Democratic infrastructure, increasing voter engagement (especially younger and Indigenous voters), and building lasting community relationships.
This role is critical to building long-term Democratic strength in Lake County. The Organizer will help ensure local voices are heard, strengthen civic participation, and build the foundation for future leadership in the community.
The Organizer will support efforts across ** HD-12/SD-6, HD-13/SD-7, HD-15/SD-8, and HD-91/SD-46**, with the goal of improving Democratic performance in 2026 while building a foundation for future cycles.

Key Focus (2026–2028)
Build and lead voter contact, volunteer recruitment, precinct organizing, voter turnout efforts across Lake County
Build a sustainable local volunteer and leadership pipeline
Expand Democratic infrastructure in all 22 precincts
Increase voter engagement among younger and Indigenous voters
Assist Central Committee with key events throughout the year
Support candidate recruitment and development for future cycles
Responsibilities
Recruit, train, and manage a county-wide volunteer network
Conduct direct voter contact (door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text outreach)
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, Tribal leaders, and local organizations
Support candidates in 2026, 2027, and 2028 races
Plan and execute GOTV efforts
Build and maintain an active social media program to support organizing, volunteer recruitment, and voter engagement, with consistent weekly content and growth in local audience reach
Host events, training, and office hours
Track, analyze, and report on voter contact and volunteer engagement data to inform strategy
Qualifications
Required:
Experience in political organizing and/or community-based organizing
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken)
Willingness to work evenings and weekends
Familiarity with tools like VAN, Mobilize, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Canva, Survey Monkey, Mailchimp, and similar tools
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a geographically large, rural county
Preferred:
Experience working in rural communities
Experience working with or in Indigenous communities
Familiarity with Montana political landscape
