Maremoto has an overall $10.4M budget in 2026 and is made up of a 501(c)(3) and a 501(c)(4). The fundraising consultant’s primary objective is to help Maremoto Action close a $2.1M 501(c)(4) fundraising gap by the end of September, ensuring funds can be deployed effectively in advance of Election Day. Work is expected to begin on or around June 15th.
Maremoto is a set of organizations building a world where Latinos take charge of our lives through unified power in politics, media, and culture. We’re a bold, ambitious home for visionary change—bringing together civic, cultural, and media strategies that move millions, shift narratives, and demand our rightful place in U.S. democracy. Our work is powered by deep community, big ideas, and the conviction that the future is ours to shape. We’re a new organization, but our roots run deep. Maremoto was born from a team that’s been at the forefront of Latino political strategy, cultural storytelling, and community power-building for years. We’re going even bigger—and we’re looking for people who want to build something transformational with us.
Scope of Work
The fundraising consultant will focus on rapidly expanding our c4 donor base, activating new funding relationships, and strengthening our overall fundraising approach to meet this urgent goal. Key responsibilities include:
Prospect Identification and Research (40%)
Build and manage a targeted pipeline of high capacity prospective donors aligned with Maremoto’s mission, with a focus on individuals, collaboratives, and institutions that fund 501(c)(4) advocacy and political work.
Donor Introductions and Outreach Strategy (35%)
Leverage existing networks to facilitate timely introductions to prospective donors, and advise on outreach strategy, engagement tactics, and donor “moves” plans to accelerate giving decisions within the September timeline.
Fundraising Strategy and Materials (15%)
Refine Maremoto’s case for support for c4 funding, strengthen messaging for politically aligned donors, and ensure materials are optimized for urgency and impact ahead of Election Day.
Reporting and Strategic Guidance (10%)
Participate in regular check-ins with the Development Director, track progress toward the $2.1M goal, and provide a final summary of outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for sustaining the c4 donor pipeline.
