Title: Fundraising Consultant for Maremoto

Introduction
Maremoto is a set of organizations building a world where Latinos take charge of our lives through unified power in politics, media, and culture. We’re a bold, ambitious home for visionary change—bringing together civic, cultural, and media strategies that move millions, shift narratives, and demand our rightful place in U.S. democracy. Our work is powered by deep community, big ideas, and the conviction that the future is ours to shape.
We’re a new organization, but our roots run deep. Maremoto was born from a team that’s been at the forefront of Latino political strategy, cultural storytelling, and community power-building for years. We’ve spun off into an independent organization to go even bigger—and we’re looking for people who want to build something transformational with us.
Maremoto has an overall $8.3M budget in 2025 and is made up of a 501(c)(3) and a 501(c)(4).
Scope of Work
The selected consultant will help Maremoto chart a path to meet its annual fundraising goals and solidify a new base of supporters to sustain its future growth. The contract with the selected consultant will run through the remainder of 2025. Responsibilities should include:
1. ** Prospect Identification**
○ Develop a prospect pipeline to expand and diversify our donor base, including identifying new opportunities for individual and institutional giving.
○ Connect Maremoto leader with prospective donors and advise on donor moves strategies.
3. ** Provide Additional Capacity & Coverage for Development Team**
○ Expand development staff capacity and ensure additional coverage to support the development team’s workload and priorities more effectively.
Deliverables
The consultant will:
1. Develop a prospect list of funders that are aligned with our vision for the future – or can be persuaded – and have the capacity to help Maremoto reach its fundraising goals in 2025 and grow its base in 2026.
2. Arrange introductions for Maremoto leadership and development staff with these prospects and/or provide guidance on best
3. Monthly progress reports and a final project report summarizing outcomes and next steps.
Desired Qualifications
● Proven track record of successful political nonprofit fundraising and donor base expansion, specifically for multi-entity progressive groups.
● Deep relationships and extensive knowledge of major donors, funder collaboratives, and foundations.
● Expertise in donor acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.
● Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and trends.
● Excellent communication and training skills.
● Available to meet weekly with Maremoto Development Director.
● Cultural competence and an ability to communicate respectfully and effectively about Latino communities, with awareness of their significance to our work.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
1. Relevant experience and expertise.
2. Quality and feasibility of the proposed approach.
3. Cost-effectiveness.
4. References and demonstrated success with similar projects.
