JOB DESCRIPTION

Graphic and Web Designer

Overview

We’re looking for a detail-oriented ** Graphic and Web Design Specialist** who takes pride in producing polished, thoughtful work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you’ll develop branding for campaigns and organizations, build and maintain websites, design creative assets for digital advertising campaigns across platforms, and create a wide range of print assets. This position is ideal for someone with a strong design foundation who can execute across both digital and physical mediums.

Who We Are

Human Age Digital is a boutique digital advertising firm that works with Democratic political candidates and mission-driven organizations. We are a small, collaborative, and mission-driven team helping progressive causes and campaigns maximize their outreach through strategic digital advertising, branding, website design, and video production.

What You’ll Do

  • Create high-quality visual designs across digital and print platforms

  • Design and maintain website content using Wix

  • Develop assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)

  • Design collateral templates in Canva

  • Prepare production-ready files for print and physical materials

  • Execute basic front-end code website edits using HTML/CSS as needed

  • Apply basic SEO best practices to websites

  • Communicate directly with clients about design needs and revisions. Eventually, we’d love for you to lead design meetings.

  • Ensure consistency in branding, typography, and visual standards across all outputs

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of graphic/web design experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Experience working in Wix (or similar website builders) and an understanding of UX/UI principles and SEO best practices

  • Experience designing for print production (file setup, color modes, bleed, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy

  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work across different mediums and learn new production techniques

  • Interest in and passion for progressive politics

  • Confidence working collaboratively on a small team, as well as independently

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Strong concepting skills are essential. You should be able to quickly translate client goals, campaign objectives, and provided information into thoughtful, strategic creative aligned with the target audience, platform, and overall message.

  • We value designers who are resourceful and flexible in their creative process, including using references, trend research, brainstorming tools, and emerging technologies to strengthen ideation and execution.

  • Canva is an important part of our workflow in certain instances, but this role requires strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Candidates should be very comfortable designing original assets and concepts in Adobe programs.

  • Political work moves quickly. You should be comfortable working on tight timelines, including developing multiple concepts or revisions within a matter of hours when needed.

  • Comfort with balancing speed, adaptability, and attention to detail is essential in this role.

Perks

  • Unlike many political firms that scale staffing up and down around election cycles, we invest in retaining our team year-round and are committed to building long-term roles and growth opportunities so you don't have to look for a job at the end of the cycle.

  • Hybrid/Remote flexibility (must be able to work Central Time)

  • Competitive salary

  • Health insurance (medical, dental, vision)

  • 401k retirement

  • Generous vacation days

  • Flexible, collaborative, and mission-driven team environment with an office in Houston

  • Seasonal workflow flexibility: election periods can be fast-paced and demanding, balanced by slower periods with lighter schedules and occasional half days while always maintaining full pay

Salary Range and Additional Information

  • Full-time preferred but open to Part-time

  • $60-70k

If you are enthusiastic about progressive politics and have a strong foundation in graphic (digital and print) and web design, we encourage you to apply and join us in our mission.
