About FPSG
Focal Point Strategy Group is a boutique strategic communications firm based in Washington, DC. We work with clients across climate and clean energy, democracy, criminal justice reform, social justice, and immigration, building thought leadership and advocacy campaigns that move the issues our clients care about. Our creator engagement practice treats creators like reporters: relationship-driven, earned-first, and built on real research rather than paid placements.
About the Role
FPSG is hiring a Creator Engagement Intern to work hands-on inside our creator engagement practice. This is real, live work from day one: the creators you help find and the copy you draft all go toward active advocacy campaigns. You'll be trained directly by our creator engagement team on every process and tool we use. We teach you the work, and once you've got a task down, you take the reins.
In this role, you'll work directly under the guidance of our Creator Engagement & Digital Associate. This internship is slated to wrap up on December 31, 2026, though we may consider extending the role depending on performance and available funding.
What You'll Do
Creator Engagement
Research and vet creators across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, and podcasts, and build tiered lead lists for client campaigns
Draft and send outreach to creators; opening conversations and helping build relationships
Draft social copy for advocacy clients, keeping tone sharp and audience-appropriate
Content Support
Monitor platform trends and social conversations relevant to our clients, and flag what's worth acting on
Dig into claims and sourcing with careful research and fact-checking across a range of topics and clients
Keep our creator database clean, current, and usable
What You'll Gain
Published social copy and creator campaigns you can point to in your portfolio
A working understanding of how creator strategy plugs into advocacy communications
Direct mentorship and hands-on training in the tools and workflows of a working comms firm
What You Bring
There's no single background that maps cleanly onto this role. What matters most:
Self-starter; once you're trained and feel solid, you take on tasks without waiting to be told what’s next
Sharp writing skills with the ability to flex between voices
Organization and attention to detail
Curiosity and comfort figuring things out
Familiarity with the creator/influencer landscape
Able to work DC hours
Focal Point Strategy Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities and from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
Pay: $20 per hour with expected workload of roughly 30 hours per week
