About the Role 

Activate America is seeking a passionate, results-oriented ** Organizer** to support the expansion of the** Multiplier Project**—a bold new initiative to build grassroots organizing power in key battleground House districts ahead of the 2026 election. Our focus for this hire is an organizer to work in IA 1 and 3. 

The Organizer will work directly with the Project Director to identify and engage local partners for the purpose of building the long-term capacity and strength of local organizing power to destabilize the Trump agenda and win back the House in 2026. This role is ideal for someone with strong Iowa-based campaign or issue-based organizing experience who thrives in a campaign-paced, results-oriented environment and wants to build real political power. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

● ** Collaborate with Other Iowa Groups and Organizations **

○ Build strong collaborative (and non-competitive) relationships across both state and community organizations to support and strengthen grassroots action and influence 

○ Participate in coalitions to coordinate and amplify messages and activities that create synergy ○ Help to develop or participate in communications and planning efforts of those most active in the Iowa elevating grassroots actions 

● ** Outreach & Engagement **

○ Provide organizing tools and training, particularly in relational organizing, to expand the activist/organizer base and engage in advocacy/accountability work. 

○ Identify, recruit, and train new volunteer organizers at scale, working with and alongside local partners 

○ Support the mobilization of volunteers for accountability events. 

 

● ** Campaign Support and Time Management **

○ Coordinate 1:1s, strategy calls, and trainings with partners and internal team members ○ Track relationships and follow-up steps using project tools (e.g., spreadsheets, CRMs) ○ Create and maintain project timelines and calendars across multiple districts 

○ Support logistics for virtual and in-person trainings or meetings 

○ Track and log key events, actions, and local developments in priority districts 

○ Draft outreach emails, briefing notes, and call agendas as needed 

○ Support the creation and sharing of organizing toolkits and resources

Qualifications 

 

● 2–3 years of successful experience in grassroots political campaigns, union or community organizing, or issue-based advocacy, Iowa-based experience is a big plus. 

● Experience building or supporting a successful organizing committee in a union, student movement, or grassroots campaign 

● Self-starter who can work independently and is results/impact focused. 

● Adept at relational organizing and organizing to build long term people power. 

● Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent relationship-building skills, in-person and via phone, Zoom, and email. 

● Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines 

● Experience using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides Calendar), Zoom, and basic project tracking tools ● Experience working with Mobilize, Every Action, VAN, and other platforms for outreach ● Valid Drivers license, insurance and ability to travel locally to facilitate strong working relationships with organizational partners. 

● Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred 

 

Nice-to-Haves 

● Experience in developing and/or leading group trainings. 

● Previous work with Activate America coalition partners, local advocacy groups (eg. Indivisible, Swing Left) or independent expenditure campaigns 

● Design skills (eg. Canva, Adobe, Photoshop, etc…)
