The Data Manager will support field managers, organizers and volunteers involved in voter registration and engagement. The Data Manager will be part of a 3-pronged approach to mobilize Jewish Voters. Relational Organizing (contacting people you know), community presence (voter centers & tabling), and surround sound campaigning (tabling, commercials, paid digital, advertising, mail & press placements).
Applicants must have strong data management and analysis skills. Applicants should have a working knowledge of Votebuilder (VAN)/ EveryAction, and data management tools. Applicants should be comfortable running voter lists, extracting data, analyzing data in counts and crosstabs, and creating searches. Experience working with voter targeting is a plus.
Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical thinking, and be able to conduct quality analysis and control of large, complex data sets in a database such as EveryAction.
Experience in online organizing, including listserve management and campaigning, is a plus.
Applicants should be curious to learn voter engagement techniques and strategy. Applicants should be team players, and comfortable in leadership or supporting roles within a team.
Data Manager should be self-motivated and ready to bring a positive attitude ready to think creatively to meet program needs and support the work organizers are doing with volunteers. The ideal applicant will have experience problem solving and thinking on their feet in order to develop innovative solutions to complex data challenges.
The Data Manager will be an integral part of an innovative, first of its kind, community organizing program in the New York Jewish community. The Data Manager will have primary responsibility for generating walk and call lists for Field organizers and volunteers, recording what geographic areas are covered, tracking performance, and uploading digital data. The Data Manager will generate regular reports summarizing the data for program staff to use in assessing program activities.
The Data Manager will ensure data entry is being completed promptly and accurately by program volunteers and partners. They will work closely with program staff to ensure event attendees are tracked and volunteer data is kept up to date. They will conduct regular data quality control to ensure program volunteers and outputs are tracked accurately and completely.
In addition, the Data Manager will coordinate closely with hub partners to ensure data systems meet the program’s and partners’ objectives, minimize redundancy, and lay the groundwork for a smooth election season.
The Data Manager may also support other elements of the program, including suggesting content for the program’s web presence, contributing to program online calendars, providing logistical support for training and events, and staffing program events.
