We are seeking a part-time Junior Video Editor to join our Creative team on a contract basis through Election Day, November 3, 2026. This role is designed for an editor early in their career who is eager to build skills in fast-paced political and advocacy video production. Working closely with our Director of Production and Senior Video Editor, the Junior Video Editor will support the creative team’s output with cut downs, resizes, and asset sourcing that keep campaigns moving. This is an execution-focused role: the ideal candidate takes clear direction well, works efficiently, and delivers clean, reliable work under tight deadlines.
Please note: This role will work across Assemble’s political firewall, supporting both independent expenditure (IE) and coordinated campaign work. As a result, candidates must not have any other freelance or contract engagements – political or otherwise – that could create a firewall conflict, and must be willing to forgo outside freelance work for the duration of the contract.
Produce cut downs and resizes of existing video creative across formats (paid social, TV, digital) under the direction of the Senior Video Editor.
Support day-to-day editing needs with quick, accurate turnarounds that meet campaign deadlines.
Maintain consistency and quality across formats, versions, and platforms.
Source stock and found imagery to support video projects.
Coordinate and help secure voiceover (VO) talent and recordings as needed.
Assist with organizing footage, assets, and project files to keep production running smoothly.
Work closely with the Director of Production and Senior Video Editor, incorporating feedback quickly and accurately.
Communicate proactively about workload, timelines, and any bottlenecks.
Working fluency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Ability to take direction well and execute edits accurately with minimal revisions.
Strong attention to detail, especially around formatting, specs, and version control.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and urgent turnarounds.
Available to start immediately and work through November 3, 2026.
No conflicting freelance or contract work for the duration of the engagement (see firewall note above).
Some experience with political, advocacy, or issue-based campaign content.
Familiarity with paid social and TV format specs.
Basic familiarity with After Effects or motion graphics with ability to create text on screen, end cards, etc.
Rate: $70/hr
Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hours a week, majority of availability required between 9-6pm ET
Term: Immediate start through November 3, 2026
