Location: Remote, with preferred locations in AZ, CA, CO, GA, MI, NV, or NY
The Logistics and Operations Specialist, working as a contractor, will support the Department of Program Evaluation and Operations by handling administrative and logistical tasks for NAL’s programming, with additional support for NALAF. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning, managing logistics for day-long or multi-day events, and possess strong attention to detail. Knowledge of political campaigns or volunteer experience in this field is a plus. The contractor will work in alignment with NAL’s values of inclusivity and equity.
Deliverables:
Venue Management:
Identify and research venues for NAL trainings, coordinate quotes, conduct site visits, and manage contracts with hotels or other event venues.
Ensure all venues align with NAL’s values and logistical requirements, and provide a summary report on each venue researched.
Travel Coordination:
Book and manage travel arrangements for trainers, speakers, and participants, including flights and local transportation (e.g., Uber vouchers).
Maintain accurate records of all travel bookings and create a report on travel logistics for each event.
Logistics and Administrative Support:
Coordinate catering and printing needs for NAL programs.
Assist with data entry for participant information collected from events.
Compile and submit receipts for expense management, providing monthly expense reports.
Candidate Vetting Support:
Assist NALAF in the vetting process for potential endorsements, including conducting research and gathering relevant data for candidate profiles.
Provide a summary report of findings for each candidate vetted.
Additional Programming Support:
Provide logistical and administrative support as needed for other NAL/NALAF programming, ensuring timely and organized execution.
Requirements:
Commit to working 10 hours per week from January through June 2025.
Attend check-in meetings and provide updates on the progress of deliverables.
Regularly check and respond to emails and Slack messages.
Create and maintain spreadsheets to document research and build institutional knowledge.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
Event planning experience, preferably for small-to-medium sized events.
Ability to research and identify values-aligned venues and hotels.
Familiarity with tools like EveryAction, Airtable, Google Sheets, Excel formulas, and Concur flight booking software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with NAL programming, either as an alum or supporter.
Knowledge of national, state, and local political landscapes across multiple states.
Campaign experience as a volunteer or staff member is preferred.
