JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of Position:

McMorrow for Michigan is seeking a Michigan Deputy Finance Director to join the team and play a key role in advancing the Senator’s fundraising efforts.

 

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and skilled at managing multiple priorities efficiently. Strong abilities in research, communication, and collaboration are essential, along with a passion for executing a successful in-state fundraising strategy. The successful candidate will bring creativity, initiative, and a proactive approach to the finance program. This position will report directly to the National Finance Director. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a strategy to appropriately target small, medium, and high dollar in-state donors

  • Organize and execute in-state fundraising events and donor meetings

  • Participate in the development of a Michigan finance plan

  • Manage and grow Michigan-based major donor relationships

  • Develop relationships with campaign stakeholders and new prospects

  • Communicate with Finance Director on progress to reaching in-state goals on a quarterly basis

  • Prepare memos and other briefing materials

  • Staff fundraising events

  • Manage the donor thank you process

  • Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications: 

  • Past Michigan fundraising experience

  • Strong writing and editing skills as well as attention to detail

  • Strong proficiency in internet research

  • Experience working with NGP, Numero, and ActBlue

  • Working knowledge of Federal campaign finance laws

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shifting environment and keep up with breaking news

  • Willingness to learn, share, and collaborate across departments

  • Willingness to work long hours and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends

  • A valid drivers license, clean driving record, and vehicle

 

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience managing interns or other staff
