JOB DESCRIPTION

Mobilizations Organizer - Full Time 

 

The Mobilizations Organizer takes responsibility for executing our direct actions, escalation core, and visual strategy through training and coaching. This includes developing and growing our base across race, class, and geography and organizing to mass disruption in 2028 and GND wins. This organizer is working closely with our distributed team, membership team, and schools team in making sure our programming is cohesive across sub-teams. This organizer is responsible for running non-violent direct actions that support our national organizing including occasional on the ground travel.

  • Developing distributed resources and infrastructure, supporting decentralized action taking and centralized mobilizations including coaching, training, and overall organizing

  • Taking responsibility over our base having strong visual strategy and orientation to mythic power

  • Takes responsibility for building and developing our base across race and class through our non-violent direct action.

Responsibilities

Coordination:

  • Works with our schools team, membership team, distributed team, communication team and others to execute mobilizations.

  • Supports the planning and execution of the escalation core

  • Facilitates Climate Disaster Actions

  • Coordinates visual strategy organizing and support.

 

Programs: Subject to change depending on how our strategy and plans develop over time

  • Supports direct actions for the national campaign and local campaigns

  • Coaches action takers across the country in community and school hubs

  • Helps runs our Escalation Core, Mobilizations Volunteer Team, and Action Art Core Team

  • Executes Climate Disaster Actions

 

Misc:

  • Assists with mobilizations and big events (trainings, summits, etc) as needed, including logistics.

  •  Assists in ad-hoc coaching (Ex. Specific hub coaching, Action art coaching, etc)

 

Qualifications 

Must Haves

  • Has 1 year of relevant experience 

  • Proven record of being reliable and following through on tasks

  • Has been a part of a local, state or national campaign

  • Action narrative and messaging experience 

 

Nice To Have

  • Coalition and partnership action experience 

  • Overall campaign manager experience including planning and execution from draft, action arc, and debrief
