Threshold is a relational organizing platform and start-up built for Democratic campaigns that utilizes artificial intelligence for handwriting recognition, data entry and voter file matching, as well as coaching volunteers as they rolodex and reach out to their contacts. We are small, fast-moving team looking for a full-time Data Director to own our voter data pipeline and help campaigns get the most out of the platform. You can learn more about us at ThresholdVote.com
What You'll Do:
Optimize our processes for onboarding, data reporting to clients and internally.
Work with our team to optimize our existing AI features and to continue to expand our capabilities in this area.
Build and maintain target universes for campaigns using the platform.
Improve existing data workflows, reporting, and dashboards for campaign clients.
Lead some trainings and pitch meetings on Threshold's tools.
Serve as the internal expert on voter file quirks, state-by-state differences, and political data ecosystems.
Work directly with campaigns to understand their data needs and translate them into product improvements.
Support onboarding of new campaigns by loading and validating their voter data.
Most importantly, ensure QA across all of these areas and more.

At least two cycles of political data experience on Democratic campaigns or competency that exceeds such.
Deep VAN/Votebuilder admin experience has built universes, managed data, and trained organizers.

Proficiency in SQL and Excel; comfort with at least one of Python, R, or similar
Experience working with voter files from multiple vendors and states
Understanding of voter contact programs, targeting, and how field programs use data
Must be a self-motivated self-starter who can work independently.
Understands that we are a start-up and in client services and that there should be no task too small.
Bonus Points:
Experience with PDI, L2, or TargetSmart data
GIS/mapping experience (QGIS or similar)
Familiarity with relational organizing programs
Comfort with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
