Reports to: National Organizing Director
Location: Remote (East Coast preferable with frequent travel; approximately one week per month)
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

ABOUT THE ROLE
The National Member Organizer is the person who holds the whole thing together from the inside. While other national organizers are focused on geography and formations, this role is focused on the national membership infrastructure, making sure members are plugged in, leaders are being tracked and developed, national spaces are running well, and campaign support tools are available to squaDDs across the country.
This is not a purely administrative role. The National Member Organizer is also an active organizer building relationships, recruiting, and developing members in their own community and geography. They move as a coach: they are not doing the work for squaDDs, but they are a resource, a connector, and a consistent presence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Member Systems & Engagement
Own and manage national member engagement infrastructure: working groups, The Portal, national calls, and the member calendar
Ensure all members are meaningfully plugged in placed into a local formation, working group, or national initiative
Own member-facing communications (email, text, and beyond) that keep members informed, connected, and clear on how to engage
Coordinate follow-up after onboarding spaces (welcome calls, interest meetings) so every member has a clear next step
Maintain systems for tracking participation, engagement, and member progression in EveryAction and related tools
Manage the member intake pipeline from first contact through Street Team, squaDD, and leadership
Coordinate internal and external training opportunities for squaDDs and national members, including scheduling, logistics, and follow-up
Leadership Development
Maintain a clear picture of who the core leaders are across the organization and who needs support
Coordinate and execute a distributed 1:1 system with national members, pulling lists, assigning outreach
Identify emerging leaders and connect them to appropriate growth pathways
Maintain a regular meeting cadence with developing members
Campaign Infrastructure & Support
Support squaDDs local campaign refinement
Provide tools, templates, and guidance to strengthen campaign development across formations
Support the Organizing Director in identifying and bringing in external trainers to further develop our members’ skillset
Ensure campaigns across regions maintain strategic coherence and alignment with organizational priorities, pillars, and grand strategic objective.
Member Data & Systems Coordinator
Maintain and manage the organizational calendar to ensure events, programs, and actions are tracked and communicated across teams
Produce regular reports and dashboard summaries that surface progress, gaps, and resource needs to translate data into actionable insights for the organizing team
Support cross-team logistics and follow-up to ensure programs and actions translate into measurable recruitment, retention, and campaign advancement
Skills & Qualifications (need to tweak)
Strong orientation to volunteer leaders with the ability to recruit and develop leaders over time, as well as build and manage volunteer teams
An ideal candidate will have had experiences with neighborhood teams, or local campaign building
Strong communicator who is able to write resources, guides, slack posts, emails and other forms of communication with volunteer leaders
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects, teams, etc at the same time
Experience with and ability to use multiple digital/distributed organizing tools and platforms (Every Action, Mobilize, AirTable, New/Mode, text and phone bank tools, etc)
Commitment to and demonstrated experience building a cross class, mutiracial movement
Commitment to the vision of the Freedom Papers
At least 3 years of experience in community organizing, campaign strategy, or related fields.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse communities and navigate conflict
Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with a focus on developing and executing effective campaigns.
Experience with database management and tracking metrics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and to travel as needed.
