JOB DESCRIPTION

THE ROLE:

The National Partnerships and Political Manager is responsible for managing relationships with federal partners, developing strategies for our political work and advising on key priorities for NextGen’s program. A successful National Partnerships and Political Manager will be able to build strong political connections in the progressive space, excellent communication skills and great organizational skills and can thrive in a fast paced environment.

This role will report to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.

 

This is a fully remote position with no location requirement. ** However, a preference will be given to candidates located in DC, MD, or Northern VA.** We encourage candidates from all locations within the United States to apply.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:

  • Own relationships with political partners in the youth vote space and national elections space. 

  • Be a point of contact within NextGen for work with external partners, including advising on our federal policy agenda development.

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with new external partners. 

  • Develop plans to incorporate elected officials into our political work. 

  • Find opportunities for NextGen to participate in more panels, summits and conferences throughout the United States. 

  • Develop and implement political action plans that advance the priorities of the youth vote.

  • Identify key races and priorities for upcoming election cycles by developing election briefs to be used by internal organizing structures.

  • Manage NextGen’s endorsement process for upcoming election cycles. 

  • Assist in fundraising and press as needed as a spokesperson for NextGen.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • At least two cycles of campaign experience in organizing, digital, communications, political, or other work. 

  • Previous government affairs, legislative office or political campaign experience working directly with the principal or candidate.

  • Preference for previous Capitol Hill experience and/or established staff-level relationships.

  • Previous experience raising 501c3, 501c4 and/or political campaign funding.

  • Strong organizational, strategic and analytical skills, ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects.

  • The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate a clear ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines.

  • They must have a strong work ethic and demonstrate consistent attention to detail.

  • Corporate partnership development experience is a plus.

  • Love working in a dynamic team environment.

  • Be a positive, unselfish team player that sets the tone for everyone to do their best work.

 

SALARY INFORMATION:

The starting salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000. The final base salary will be determined by various factors, including individual qualifications and internal parity, which will be objectively assessed during the interview process.
