**About Mothers Out Front **

Mothers Out Front builds our power as mothers to ensure a livable climate for all children. We are growing a multi-racial, cross-class, intergenerational movement of mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers dedicated to convincing elected officials and business leaders to work for a swift, complete, and just transition away from fossil fuels to clean and renewable energy. We know that mothers have an important role to play in the climate justice movement, and, when it comes to protecting children, mothers are an unstoppable force for change. Our goal is simple: to enable mothers to take active leadership in climate justice work by providing the structure, training, and tools for them to work together and win campaigns in their communities, cities, and states.

About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated campaigners to join our team and spearhead our advocacy and campaign work in several regions. You will develop local, state, and national campaigns and mobilize a diverse group of stakeholders behind a common vision. You will coach Mothers Out Front’s volunteer teams and enable them to develop creative strategies and tactics for winning real-world change in their communities. You are passionate about implementing best available digital and non-digital practices for shifting narratives, influencing policy, and driving transformational, systems-level change.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with member leaders to develop climate justice campaigns that advance MOF’s local, state, and national advocacy goals, influence decision-makers, and build local power.

  • Support new and existing volunteer-led teams to develop campaign strategies and tactics, including digital approaches, that align with MOF’s mission.

  • Facilitate continuous iteration of campaign plans in response to changing internal and external contexts.

  • Collaborate with organizers and member leaders to develop and implement regular action opportunities for members and volunteers that advance local, statewide, and national campaigns.

  • Collaborate with organizers to develop coalitions and partnerships that contribute to the success of campaigns and build long-term power.

  • Deploy locally relevant communications and storytelling strategies that contribute to power building and narrative shifting in support of the organization’s goals.

  • Support volunteer members to strategically and effectively implement communications to amplify campaigns and increase MOF’s visibility across the state.

  • Support the effective tracking and recording of key data and metrics in organization’s databases, as required.

What You Will Need

  • At least 4 years of experience developing and executing strategic campaigns that influence decision-makers, ideally at the state or local level and in nonprofit, labor, climate or social justice settings.

  • A proven track record of setting ambitious campaign goals, pursuing them, and demonstrating success.

  • Experience coaching and training others to build, implement, and adapt campaigns in changing local contexts.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice and actively work to dismantle systems of oppression, including racism, sexism, misogyny, classism, ableism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other forms of discrimination. Commitment to working with people from a variety of ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as varying religious, educational, generational, and gender identity backgrounds.

  • Strong project management skills, coupled with sharp attention to detail, solution orientation and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing and changing priorities.

  • Openness to ongoing learning and coaching from colleagues at every level.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that inspire action.

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation are necessary for success.
