JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced consultant to provide subject matter expertise in offshore wind development, focusing on the New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts areas. The ideal candidate will support our campaign team in developing community organizing strategies and cultivating support for offshore wind projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on multi-jurisdictional permitting issues related to offshore wind development

  • Provide guidance on multi stakeholder considerations in offshore wind development

  • Assist in developing and refining community organizing strategies specific to offshore wind projects

  • Offer insights on industry trends, regulatory landscapes, and best practices in offshore wind development

  • Support the team in identifying and engaging key stakeholders in the offshore wind sector

  • Contribute to the development of communication materials and campaign strategies

  • Advise on potential challenges and opportunities unique to offshore wind projects in the target regions

 

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) in public affairs, external affairs, community engagement, or government affairs within the offshore wind industry

  • Deep knowledge of the offshore wind sector in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts

  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and stakeholder landscape in these regions

  • Proven track record of successful community engagement and support-building for offshore wind projects

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into accessible language for diverse audiences

 

Time Commitment

  • 20-25 hours per month, with flexibility based on project needs
