Summary: In 2023, Ohio became the nation’s foremost battleground for protecting abortion rights - winning a ballot initiative fight that gave hope to Democrats across the country. In 2024, Ohio will be the center of the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown, a champion for workers and the deciding vote on critical legislation. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.
The Campus Regional Organizing Director will manage a team of Campus Organizers and Campus Interns to ensure we talk to the voters we need to win Ohio. The Campus Regional Organizing Director will build an in-state team to implement the campaign’s goals for voter contact and volunteer recruitment, and will be accountable for quantitative and qualitative field metrics across all Ohio Campuses, including voter registration goals, event attendance goals, and doors knocked goals. The ideal applicant has experience organizing in competitive races, and has a desire to build a mission-driven team that can break through the noise in Ohio this year. This position is full time and will be based in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
● Hire, train, and manage a team of Campus Organizers, Campus Interns, and any additional organizing staff to implement the organizing program on campuses across the state
● Develop plans to reach volunteer recruitment goals, voter registration goals, and voter contact goals, including directly joining the day-to-day work that campus organizers are doing as needed
● Coach and mentor Campus Organizers and Interns to grow their skills, specifically focusing on voter contact, volunteer recruitment, volunteer team-building, and voter registration
● Work with local political stakeholders to develop a strong local volunteer base
● Other responsibilities as assigned by the Organizing Director, Deputy Organizing Director, or Deputy Organizing Director of Distributed and Campus. Travel may be required within the state and to HQ to transport supplies or meet with assigned staff
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
● At least 1 cycle of organizing experience, with a preference of campus organizing experience, and proven track record of reaching ambitious goals
● Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to describe the role of organizing to non-traditional applicants in the hiring process and to outside stakeholders in a particular region
● Desire to build a high-functioning, diverse team of Organizers to impact the campaign
● Proven fluency with NGP VAN and willingness to learn any new systems necessary
● Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders
● Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in Ohio, and talking directly to voters to make that happen

The Regional Organizing Director for Campus reports to a designated Deputy Organizing Director and is represented by IBEW Local 1466. This position is salaried at $5,000 per month and provides full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, voluntary vision insurance, a monthly $50 cell phone stipend, and a monthly designated travel stipend based on regional assignment. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and within the parameters of your Collective Bargaining Agreement.
