Summary: In 2024, Ohio is a frontline battleground state with competitive races up and down the ballot. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown in what will be the nation’s top targeted race in 2024, determining the control of the US Senate. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.
The Deputy Operations Director will report directly to the Operations Director and work in close partnership with other Coordinated departments. This role will require interdepartmental collaboration and a strong grasp of campaign logistics and project management. This position is full time and based in-person in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
● Work closely with the Operations Director to efficiently manage and deploy campaign resources
● Assist in the development and implementation of operations policies and procedures
● Facilitate select human resources processes including tracking the distribution and return of materials for coordinated campaign staff onboarding, offboarding, and payroll processing.
● Assist in securing, setting up, and supplying coordinated campaign offices
● Provide logistical support for all coordinated departments, including acting as a point of contact for supply requests, working with vendors, ordering merchandise and materials, completing regular supply audits, etc.
● Facilitate the setup and distribution of technological resources to campaign staff, including training and monitoring staff compliance with campaign IT security standards
● Assist in the coordination of staff training events and distribution of training materials.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
● 1-2 campaign cycles or 2+ years experience in advocacy, administrative work, or a related operations role, with previous field or operations experience on a coordinated campaign preferred
● Strong organizational skills, communication skills, intense attention to detail, and a passion for efficiency
● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
● Ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner to a variety of audiences
● Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously under strict time constraints
● A desire to work collaboratively to implement creative solutions to unique problems
● Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in Ohio

Deputy Operations Directors report to the Operations Director and are represented by IBEW Local 1466. This position is salaried at $6,000 per month and provides full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, and voluntary vision insurance. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and within the parameters of your Collective Bargaining Agreement. Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required; this position will include regular travel. Housing will not be provided.
